Generalized form: It is most common: about 90 percent of all animal diseases are caused by the plague. It combines the manifestations of all the above forms of the disease.
Skin and nervous forms often occur chronically. Animals that have had a dog’s disease may suffer from muscle cramps, paralysis, loss of vision and hearing, overgrowth of the eye pupil or epilepsy, which are fixed for a long period of time, often throughout life.
Diagnosis of dog disease in dogs
The diagnosis is made by a specialist based on history taking, changes in the path anatomical plan, results of analyzes and clinical manifestations. The veterinary surgeon will take the following parameters into account:
- Respiratory damage
- Inflammatory processes in the mucous organs of the gastrointestinal tract
- The presence of outflows from the nose and eyes
- Hyperkeratosis of the skin, basal lobes, soles of the feet and fingers.
- The defeat of the central nervous system accompanied by tremor, epilepsy, paralysis and impaired brain function.
If the animal has 4-5 described manifestations, then we can safely take the plague. Two of the five signs suggest the presence of the disease and three to make a diagnosis.
Disease therapy
It is important that the animal is helped in time, the therapy must be comprehensive. If the owner is suspicious, it is best to call the vet to the apartment. Therapy includes:
- Specific treatment based on the use of immune-globulins
- The use of stimulants and immunity modulators.
- Iimptomatic treatment: antibiotics are used to suppress pathological microflora.
- Antiallergic, vitamin, astringent or cardiac drugs.
- Medicines that stimulate the functioning of the central nervous system, anticonvulsants.
The dog must be kept in a warm, light-free, clean and insulated room in which the air is moderately moist. It must give the animal a calm atmosphere and silence. A specific diet is also prescribed based on the age and breed of the dog.
Disease prevention
Proprietary drugs were used for vaccination on the territory. Nowadays it is increasingly possible to comply with the use of imported vaccines. Injections are used to specifically prevent infection.
Puppies must be vaccinated from the age of 2-3 months. Injections are given a maximum of twice a year. After that, the animal is vaccinated once a year after one year. After grafting it is forbidden to walk the animal, it is placed in two-week quarantine. Before you vaccinate your pet, you must free it from worms.
If the animal is sick, disinfection must be carried out in the rooms where it was located. Always remember, if your pet is sick, you must first contact your veterinarian. Any independent action by the owner can cause damage to the dog, which in some situations is loaded with its death.
